About this excursion
Our Friends or Foes? study is best booked in spring and autumn months given the abundance of pollenators and flowers!
Focus: This study aligns with 'Friends or Foes' from the Primary Connections Series.
Excursion activities
Students will investigate terrestrial macro-invertebrates (ants) and record the abundance and diversity of species present with a focus on adaptions. Students will :
- collect and observe mini-beasts in water and on land
- collect and observe flowers
- investigate adaptations of invertebrates and plants using microscopes
- investigate lifecycles
- use ICT to collect and process scientific data
