About this program
BIG IDEAS:
- Living things undergo a series of changes in form, returning to the starting state. This is a LIFE CYCLE.
- Living things depend on each other and the environment to survive.
- Living things have basic needs.
- We can observe and describe changes in a simple system.
- From data collected, we can perform simple measurements and comparisons.
Our Friends or Foes? study is best booked in spring and autumn months given the abundance of pollenators and flowers!
Focus: This study aligns with 'Friends or Foes' from the Primary Connections Series.
This program reflects the new English, Mathematics, HSIE Science, Creative Arts and PDHPE Syllabus outcomes.
Inportant Information
Students will :
- collect and observe mini-beasts in water and on land
- collect and observe flowers
- investigate adaptations of invertebrates and plants using microscopes
- investigate lifecycles
- use ICT to collect and process scientific data
$5 per student
This is a 4 hour program from time of arrival at REEC.
ST2-SCI-01 uses information to investigate the solar system and the effects of energy on living, physical and geological systems
- Observe and describe living and non-living things in a habitat
- Describe ways in which plants and animals depend on each other for survival
- Describe how the needs of living things are provided by the atmosphere, hydrosphere and lithosphere
ST2-PQU-01 poses questions to create fair tests that investigate the effects of energy on living things and physical systems
